Moving house at 28 weeks & getting nostalgic x

Leaving behind my rental past, I'm sad to leave our current Grade II 19th century listed terrace house.  My husband and I moved in 2 years ago and it's by far my most favourite place in the world.  From becoming our marital home to conceiving Little monkey, this little village haven holds so many memories. Luckily we are only moving a short distance away, therefore only saying goodbye to the house and not the village that we now call home.

Primarily for nostalgic reasons, I wanted to diarise why I loved the house so much...

1. Let it Snow...let it snow...
The first time I met my husband was New Years Eve 5 years ago and after a wooing session of champagne & "Sex on Fire" we shared our first kiss in the snow. We would later go on to have our first official date under snowflakes and I still remember standing in the road thinking I was incredibly happy. Snow has become the backdrop to so many key moments that it was quite fitting to flutter on down during our moving day. This later became 6" deep and we stole another kiss in the night.

2. Peony's & flowers...
As my blog name suggests, I'm pretty obsessed with Peony's, amongst other beautiful flowers. I love filling our home with seasonal blooms and anything Jo Malone scented. Flowers can instantly update a room to feel light and happy. Looking forward to carrying on this tradition in our new house.

3. Mr & Mrs...
Newly engaged when we moved in, I set about planning our dream day instantly. I filled the house with mood boards, floral arrangements and table plans.

However my favourite memory has to be off filling our front room full of the overwhelming love we received from family & friends in the shape of cards and presents. Our little house on the prairie was filled to the brim with good wishes and gorgeous gifts. Even now I love our pearl embellished Mr & Mrs sign from my Mum.

4. All I want for Christmas...
I Couldn't do a post without mentioning Christmas and our Laura Ashley inspired duck egg tree. As you have probably guessed, I love me a theme, and the Christmas tree wasn't going to escape. The mixture of silver, snow whites and duck egg baubles gave the whole room a Frozen feel. Even now moving into the new house, my theme this year is rich reds and gold's.

5. We are having a baby...
I remember the morning like yesterday. We had been TTC for 10 months and we were both becoming downhearted. I was due to attend my university 10 year anniversary and wanted to make sure I wasn't pregnant before embarking on a night of cosmopolitans. Early morning I pee'd on stick number 10'000 and was disappointed to see nothing appear. Climbing back into bed and having little cry, I fell back asleep. It wasn't until I got up later to clear away the stick that I found the faintest of lines proudly in the little window pane. I screamed so loud with excitement that we had conceived our little monkey.
