My most perfect Vintage Floral inspired Baby Shower x

This weekend my lovely Mum and amazing Sister in Law to be, presented me with the baby shower of all baby showers.  I’m a huge lover of afternoon tea, shabby chic and vintage florals and they managed to incorporate these details into my party.

Cupcakes, flowers and bunting – oh my x

Walking into my Mum’s house I was overwhelmed by all the gorgeous decorations and attention to detail in the finishing touches.  There was floral bunting, antique tea cups full of roses and an abundance of cake stands full of yummy delights.  Plus an eclectic floral mix of dollies, napkins and plates to pull the shabby chic theme together.

There were so many pretty and intricate details and guests were treated to a scrumptious afternoon tea.  From finger sandwiches hidden in Parisian style boxes to an array of miniature cakes, no floral plate went un-used.  Family and friends were also treated to homemade pomegranate cheesecakes, wholemeal scones and baby shower themed cup cakes. All made by family and friends, to which I am terribly grateful.

However the aspect that left me overwhelmed was the abundance of friends and family that helped me celebrate the pending birth of our Little Monkey.  Friends travelled in from other cities (including my Mother in law and Sister in Law), mummy’s left babies at home to let their hair down and family showered me with love and kisses.  There were a little over 30 people all squeezed into my parents home, filling it with laughter and lots of clinking of glasses…cheers.

Following our delicious spread, my sister in law to be rounded up the troops for baby shower themed games.  We played Baby Bingo, Pining the nappy on the baby, guess the mess, baby quizzes and decorate a baby grow.

Following the games we did presents and I have to say, this is already one spoiled baby.  From hand made gift baskets full of baby essentials, to an array of teeny tiny baby grows, I was speechless. Little Monkey was also treated to teddies, toys and any babies must have, teething rings.

To end my perfect day guests were treated to thank you candles with a beautiful ribbon tied candle. It was accompanied by a poem:

“Here’s a candle for you to light, one the stork has made its flight. With the flicker of the flame, say a prayer in the babies name”

I just wanted to finish my post by saying a big heart felt thank you to my Mum and Sister in Law to be for throwing me such a perfect day.  And for the generosity and love showed by my family and friends. Lots of love xxx
