“Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year.
The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
I love autumn. Its my all time favourite season, even more so that I get to share it with Little Monkey. I love the vibrancy of colours created by the leaves, I love the promise of pumpkins at Halloween and lighting lots of candles at home.

For me September is more exciting than January for newness, new goals, new wardrobe and new plans. I also still have that back to school feeling when you would debut your new shoes, new bag and if you were lucky, summer holiday glow.
We are in our 10th month of our new house which still needs an incredible amount of work before it feels like ours. However the garden continues to surprise us. We’ve had some beautiful yellow roses bloom this last week and the most beautiful apple tree which gives the garden a beautiful autumnal hue.
This autumn will see me to the end of my maternity leave, to which makes me incredibly sad. However I’m going to continue to live everyday likes its my last on maternity. Therefore Henry and I try to get out and about everyday, even if its just too a coffee shop.
This weekend we visited The Baltic Social, a fabulously quirky restaurant meets coffee shop in the heart of the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool. I love the eclectic mix of furniture and china that the food and drinks are served on. Henry loved the oversized sofa, he could just chill out whilst I enjoyed my coffee. The staff also took a shine to Henry and I think he gave at least 2 smiles away, which is a record. I also enjoyed the most scrumptious of salads, grilled chicken, goats cheese and blueberries.
Other things I will be enjoying this autumn is Halloween with the NCT girls. We continue to meet up on a weekly basis, however I cannot wait to see them all dressed up in their non-scary halloween finest.
& lastly I will be starting to build my new back to work wardrobe to flatter my new mummy curves but hopefully still feel fashionable yet classic. Keep an eye out for those posts.
What will you be loving this autumn? x
