MADS…BIBS & PlayMobiles…Why vote for Peonie & Me? x

“These blogs that share the laughter and tears of family life, telling stories that elicit a-ha’s and understanding from all of us. They are honest and open about the realities of family life and we love them for it”.

Once upon a time… When sleep was a given, stretch marks a fear and the washing machine was used just once a week… I was a mere woman finding my way in life.

Fast forward to modern Day and I’m now Mummy.  Mummy to Henry. Mummy at the nursery gates. & (unbelievably) a Mummy blogger.

Peonie & Me…some of our best bits x

I don’t know what I expected when I joined the big world of parenting bloggers (well secretly hoped to fund a SAHM lifestyle and receive lots of freebies) but I never expected to find a voice. My voice.

I’ve found that I can paint a picture of my Mummy life with simple words & pictures (the good, the bad and the i’ve been poo’d all over) and relive all those magical moments being a Mum creates.

So when the nominations came out for the MADS and BIBS (what? You had no idea? You’re obviously not on Twitter) I knew I had to apply. Oh and ask all my family and friends to vote for me.   For those of you that haven’t heard of the MADS & BIBS (don’t worry I googled it too) here is the info:

BritMums – BIBS
BritMums highlights the best of parent lifestyle blogging in our Brilliance in Blogging Awards – the BiBs. It recognises the most creative, inventive and compelling blogging of the year!

TOTS 100 – MADS
The Mum and Dad (MAD) Blog Awards are the UK’s biggest and most exciting awards for parent blogs.

Last week when Twitter became alive with bloggers excited for the opening of the nominations, I have to say it was infectious.  Not only will I be voting for some of my favourite bloggers, I realised I wanted to be a part of it too.

I wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate my new found love of creative writing and more importantly, share my life with Little Monkey.

I know you don’t need an award to tell yourself you are doing a good job (Henry’s smiles and the odd glass of wine – for me, not him – does that) but an award to say, hey you are offering something new or lovely into the blogosphere. Well why bloody hell not…
